Contact Form

The contact form is a simple FrontPage form which has some required field and styled formatting. The form is configured to work with FrontPage extensions. Be sure your host has the FrontPage extensions installed or your form will not work or you can convert it to a PHP or CGI format if you have a mail handler program. As a FrontPage form, after the user fills out the form, the detail is logged into a folder titled _Private. it also creates a confirmation page for your visitor to go over the info they have provided. When they click Ok it takes them to a thank you page and then to the home page. the information is logged in the _Private folder and an email is sent to your address with the information included.

In order to get email, you must configure your email address. You do this by right clicking anywhere within the form properties. (dotted line surrounding the form) When you do this a window will pop up and you can see where to add your email address. Save and re-publish. FrontPage will display a notice that you can't send email and would you like to remove the email address. Check "NO". FrontPage does this because it realizes that you are not on a server. There are no FrontPage extensions on your hard drive. if you perform this function while on the server you will not get this message.

After publishing I have always found it best to mark my forms "Do Not Publish". Unless you make changes there is no reason to keep publishing them.

The best form handler I have ever used is Kmita Mail. It is so easy anyone can use it. The support is excellent and if need be they will install it for you at no charge. The form has many features with an autoresponder, multiple recipients, etc. It uses php or asp. Check it out: It is only $19.95 and will give you unbelievable flexibility with your forms.
