adding my own events

The calendar is a "Flash" program.

You do not need to know flash to use this. It's simple and surprisingly easy to use. There is no need to mess with any of the "Flash" files.

To add events to the Calendar just open the file titled data.XML. This is just a text file. The only confusing part is the way the Months are displayed such as January starts the year and is titled month 0 in the code. Feb is month 1. That's just the way "Flash works.

The Calendar data.XML file is well commented and should be easy to follow.

To add a day, month or year just simply copy and paste from another day, month or year. Entries in the XML file do not have to be in any kind of order as long as they are labeled correctly.

If your calendar uses pictures for the main screen, (large page calendar) The pictures are labeled january.jpg, febuary.jpg and so on. You can change the pictures to your own theme by sizing correctly to 600 x 400. The program will resize to the dimensions specified in the Flash code. Any size smaller may result in picture distortion.

The days Icons are also changeable. They are in a folder titles Icons. Remember to use identical sizes and do not change the file names.

It is advisable to make a backup copy of the data.XML file before editing.
